Luiza Formenius, classically trained Swedish soprano living in Dubai, is back with a new classical hybrid. This time it is ‘La Vie En Rose’ that gets an updated outfit.
As before, the new release – the cover of Edit Piaf’s immortal ‘La Vie En Rose’ from 1945, is a mix of modern and classic. The optimistic and hopeful post-war melody has been given a more modern costume, inspired by producers such as Kygo. The music is recorded in Kennel Studios in Stockholm and the video in a snowy winter landscape in Kiruna.
After graduating from Trinity Guildhall London, Luiza has performed on various stages around the world – South Africa, Sweden and India and made a number of appearances in Dubai, where she lives 6 months a year. And that her roots both in Europe and the Middle East that can be clearly heard in ‘La Vie En Rose’.
‘La Vie En Rose’ is Luiza’s third single, taken from an upcoming debut album. Earlier, she released ‘Rebel Bird’, which blurred the boundaries between pop and opera, and ‘Dream A Little Dream’, which turned into a modern cross-over classic. And we have more to look forward to! Two more singles and a very special Christmas song – will be released in 2020, all via Universal Music.
